We are excited to share our affordable and innovative vestibular technologies with the entire vestibular community–especially educators and researchers! We have developed a first of its kind program that benefits both clinicians and educators alike! Here’s how it works:
Step 1: Research Program
In order for us to develop the most affordable and feature-rich set of infrared video goggles, we need to know what clinicians and researchers wanted most! Using 3D printing and years of technical experience, we built a basic version of infrared video goggles to research key usability issues, technical requirements, software compatibility, and required features. We collected and analyzed detailed survey data from our passionate users and this allowed us to design the next version to maximize the value to vestibular clinicians, researchers, and educators.
Step 2: Design & Prototyping
After careful analysis of the survey data and consultation with top vestibular researchers, we started developing the new Insight Infrared Video Goggles from the ground up. Starting with basic sketches, we used rapid prototyping techniques like multi-filament 3D printers to iterate and perfect our design. Special consideration was taken at every step to reduce custom-made parts and uncommon materials so we could pass those savings to those who need it most—YOU!
Step 3: Manufacturing and Regulatory
One of the most important steps is the manufacturing and assembly of the new Insight Infrared Video Goggles! Taking the design produced by our engineers and translating it modern production techniques is supported by a top-notch medical device manufacturer who understand how to efficiently and consistently manufacture high quality products. In parallel to this process, the registration and application to the relevant regulatory and standards bodies ensures that our goggles are safe and effective! The tooling of the molds has started and we will be monitoring the progress daily.
Step 4: Program Selection
Status: In Progress
At the heart of our swap program is finding the vestibular education programs that are in need of infrared video goggles to integrate into their curriculum. We are developing a matching algorithm that will guarantee every research goggle will be connected with an eligible educational program in need. If we have more goggles than programs, then multiple goggles will be donated to each program. If there are less, then the programs that responded first will receive priority.
Step 5: Goggles Launch!
Status: Anticipated Launch Spring 2020
As soon as the new goggles are fully cleared from FDA, we will begin mailing the Insight Infrared Video Goggles to existing owners of the Insight Research Goggles in the order in which they were purchased. Early adopters will be the first to receive them! A prepaid shipping label will be provided for shipping the research goggles to the matched educational program. And just like that–the vestibular community will finally have the necessary tools to train the next generation of vestibular clinicians with evidence-based best practices and technology!
