Why are you implementing this program?
Here at Vestibular First, we are strong supporters of education and believe its one of the best ways to ensure high-quality care of those suffering from vestibular disorders. When talking with students about infrared goggles, most had only seen videos of them and none had actual hands-on experience. We saw this as an opportunity to connect qualified educational programs with researchers, clinicians, and educators who upgrade their equipment.
What are the costs to participate in this program?
In order to provide the best support in transitioning and supporting equipment that is transferred in our program, we have created a pricing structure that is as low-cost as possible–while still keeping the program sustainable. Please view the available options that will available to eligible educational programs.
Why aren’t they free?
Simply put, in order to keep the program sustainable, we must charge a nominal amount to cover our costs to refurbish and ship goggles to and from our office. We are always focused on price and if we find opportunities to make these even less expensive, we will update the program.
How do I participate?
There are two steps to apply to receive the Insight Research Goggles:
- Confirm you are an eligible educational program
- Submit an application to participate in our program
- Once accepted, you will be able to place your order online for one of our educational packages
What computers do I need to connect to the goggles?
We have a comprehensive section outlining the computer requirements for the goggles in our technical specifications section. Please start with the minimum systems requirements article and then you can easily browse the related articles to confirm your equipment meets specifications.
Are the goggles new?
The goggles that are part of the swap are part of our research program which is comprised of clinicians, researchers, and educators in a variety of settings. Your goggles will be fully cleaned and tested prior their arrival.
I teach continuing education courses that cover the vestibular system–do I qualify?
We love to support instructors of vestibular education and we have developed a set of criteria that are easy to meet for those who are active in their profession. Please review the eligibility requirements to see if you qualify. If you do, apply online and we will reach to you once we verify your information.

Can I get an upgrade to the new Insight Infrared Video Goggles?
All customers who have the original research goggles can apply for a credit towards a new pair of our Insight Goggles by contacting our office. You will need to send a picture with the serial number on the goggles and your original order details. We will apply your original cost as a discount towards a new pair of goggles.
What are the steps to prepare my goggles for sending the goggle back?
All goggles will be returned to Vestibular First to confirm function before distributing to matched programs. We ask that you follow the below steps to prepare your goggles:
- Fully clean all parts of the goggle using our recommended cleaning procedures
- Clean exterior and interior of case
- Replace the strap connector with the enclosed kit
- If your are mailing the goggles, carefully place the goggles in the box your upgraded goggles came in and secure safely with packing tape. Affix the prepaid mailing label and follow the enclosed instructions to arrange a pickup/drop-off.
My organization qualifies as an eligible educational program, do I still have to swap the goggles?
No, you do not. You can elect to keep the existing goggles or if you feel you have enough you can participate in the swap–it’s up to you.
I purchased multiple goggles. Will I get a new one for each?
Yes, the swap is one-to-one.
