OBS Software Alternatives for Non-Administrators

If you are unable to use OBS for any reason–fear not!  There is at least one other option available for Apple or Windows. However, be aware that these applications only support very basic functions of the camera.  Dual-Eye and Picture-in-Picture viewing are not available with these applications.

Apple

The second best application after OBS to use is Quicktime, which is installed by default on Apple computers.

Windows

The second best application after OBS to use depends on the version of Windows you have:

  • Windows 10 – We recommend to use the built-in Camera application
  • All other versions of Windows – We recommend the use of Quicktime for Windows.
